Airflo Speydicator Fly Line
Spey fishing has become extremely popular in recent years. The allure of monster casts and tales of epic nymphing expeditions have lured in many anglers. Spey and switch rods have been selling left and right, so the need for a specific fly line to suit this style of angling has become very apparent. Launching is only half the battle, and a special line is required if you're going to work magic once you're in the water. Thus, the Airflo Speydicator Fly Line was created.
Airflo Speydicator was designed to cater to the particular needs of spey and switch fishermen. It is hearty enough to execute a savage two-handed cast, yet delicate enough to finesse a skilled one-handed approach when the need arises. The Speydicator is highly wind resistant, and we enjoyed chucking nymphs with some very tight D-loops. This is all possible because Airflo gave the tip enough lift to give you the raw power required to launch something heavy at a long distances. But Airflo didn't just stop there and call it a day...
What distinguishes the Airflo Speydicator fly line from the crowd is its exclusive handling. The line mends beautifully, and does so by design. The Speydicator features a strategically designed head, followed by an extended section of rear taper that makes it possible for you to mend the fly line across great distances without sacrificing the ability to turn over heavy nymphs. Airflo has made sure you can control the line even after you launch it.
The Speydicator fly line takes your switch experience to the next level. Airflo has created an epic fly line that we highly recommend for nymphing both steelhead and trout. You will immediately notice a big difference when fishing with a line that was designed from the ground up with spey fishing in mind. We were able to roll-cast our heavy nymph and turn it over with very little effort... which was simply delightful!
The Airflo Speydicator fly line is a massively long line, so you may need to reduce your running line to make it all fit on the reel. It's worth the adjustment though. Once you've fought a steelhead 125 feet away without hitting your running line... you will know what I mean!
Final Score:97% An amazing wind-resistant launching line!
